ACE conducted 35 environmental compliance audits that included multimedia evaluations of the facilities' compliance with air, water, and waste requirements. Additionally, a review of regulatory permits was conducted, as well as an audit of the activities performed on site, to ensure the permits adequately reflected the activities on site.

Stillwater Mining Company

Compliance Auditing

ACE performed environmental compliance audits across all three of Stillwater Mining Company's locations. This project was performed as a subcontractor.

Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT)

Stormwater Program EMS Auditing and Recommendations

cdot logoACE performed a statewide audit on CDOT's Stormwater Environmental Management System (EMS). ACE compiled the results and made recommendations for an enhanced development of CDOT's Construction Program Environmental Management System (EMS). This project was performed as a subcontractor.

ACE developed Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure plans (SPCC) for multiple Denison Mines locations.

SWPPP / SWMP Development

ACE developed Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Stormwater Management Plans (SWMP) for multiple Denison Mines locations.

Notice of Intent (NOI)

ACE updated NOIs to reflect current activities, operational and reclamation plans for two large mining operations.

Schmidt Construction

Stormwater Permitting and SWMP Development

Schmidt LogoACE obtained the light industrial stormwater permit required for Schmidt Construction to begin operations on their project site. ACE also developed the SWMP that was implemented throughout the construction, development, and completion of the project.

Aggregate Industries

New Acquisition Compliance

Aggregate logoACE managed the scheduling and implementation of multi-media compliance audits within a newly acquired region of Aggregate Industries' US operations. ACE documented and reported the results of the compliance audits in conformance with Aggregate Industries' Corporate Environmental Management System (EMS) procedures relating to compliance and new acquisitions.


ISO 14001 Internal Audit

ACE performed an internal audit of the Environmental Management System (EMS) at the Musashi auto parts manufacturing facility in Michigan using the ISO 14001:2004 Standard.  The audit included a combination of document and records review, field observations, and interviews with personnel from key areas throughout the operation. 

Compliance Audit

ACE conducted a comprehensive environmental compliance assessment at the Musashi auto parts manufacturing facility to evaluate compliance with air, water, waste, fuel storage, and environmental reporting requirements.  The assessment included a combination of permit and records review, interviews with staff, and an inspection of the interior and exterior of the facility.

Carbon Footprint of Printing Processess

Signature LogoACE performed environmental and permitting research on Signature Offset and its local printing competitors to compare the carbon footprint of the different printing processes based on permit limitations and reported fuel consumption.


Colorado Alliance of Sustainable Business Associations (CASBA)

Green Action Plans

As part of CASBA and in coordination with Greenprint Denver and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Environmental Leadership Program, ACE volunteered its services to help develop green action plans for general businesses. The green actions plans were used at workshops that provided companies with the tools to create a list of actions to start their own path to sustainability.

Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT)

Greening Government Research Project

 CDOT logoACE worked with several divisions of CDOT to identify preliminary action steps that would need to be implemented to achieve the goals in Governor Ritter's executive order on greening state government by 2012.  ACE also developed an implementation plan that recommended green action steps pertaining to the recent greening requirements as well as previously enacted state agency greening requirements.

Specifically, the project focused on developing an action plan to reduce consumption of energy, water, and paper as well as petroleum use in state vehicles. This project was performed as a subcontractor.

Mental Health Center of Denver (MHCD)

Green Consulting Services

MHCD LogoACE performed a site visit and developed a Green Action Plan with recommendations to help reduce the environmental footprint of MHCD's office activities. ACE presented the results, along with some general sustainability education, to executive management. The Green Action Plan included recommendations relating to leadership, community involvement, education, energy consumption, water consumption, waste generation, environmentally preferable purchasing, and fleet management.

Snooze Restaurant

Greening Research and Guidance

 Snooze logoACE provided research services to identify opportunities to green the restaurant industry through more sustainable practices.  ACE provided an outline of potential improvements in the areas of energy consumption, water consumption, waste and recycling, composting, environmentally preferable products, and education.



Corporate Express US Inc.

Ecoffice Makeover Contest

 ACE was one of three sustainability consulting firms hired by Corporate Express to provide sustainability services to their Ecoffice Makeover Contest winner.  ACE worked as part of the Corporate Express team to recommend green office practices for their winners, while the other consultants performed general sustainability awareness activities and green cleaning recommendations.

Democratic National Convention (DNC)

Greening Services

 In coordination with CASBA and the Denver 2008 Host Committee, ACE volunteered its services to help define sustainable business principles that were used to compile a green vendor listing for the DNC.


Go Green Assessment and Action Plan

ACE teamed with another sustainability firm to perform a site visit and interview various departments within the company to document existing operational processes and identify opportunities for change.  Recommendations in the areas of waste reduction, energy use and conservation, chemical use, employee incentives, and marketing and communication were incorporated into a Go Green Action Plan.

Stillwater Mining Company

Training Development and Implementation 

ACE developed a compliance audit training course covering the following topics: environmental regulatory requirements, federal and state benefits of auditing, how to perform audits, auditing tips, and audit reporting and follow-up. ACE delivered the training to the environmental staff members of the Company. This project was performed as a subcontractor to EnviroGroup Limited.


Associated General Contractors of America (AGC)

Training Development and Implementation

 AGCACE developed and implemented training for AGC that outlined some basic training requirements for the construction industry. Included in the training topics were the Clean Water Act, stormwater permit and SWMP requirements, determining the effectiveness of BMPs, and overall stormwater compliance tips.
